History of Kiss
KISS is an American glam rock/hard rock band formed in New York City in 1973. The group has performed and recorded continuously since their formation. KISS has sold 63 million albums worldwide and has been awarded 22 gold albums to date, and has certified sales of 19 million records in the United States.
Easily identified by their trademark face paint (registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office) and stage costumes, KISS quickly rose to prominence on the basis of their elaborate live performances, which featured firebreathing, blood spitting, smoking guitars and pyrotechnics.
The original lineup of Gene Simmons (bass and vocals), Paul Stanley (rhythm guitar and vocals), Paul “Ace” Frehley (lead guitar and vocals) and Peter Criss (drums and vocals) became the most successful and identifiable in the band’s history, and released a series of gold and platinum albums throughout the 1970s. Due to substance abuse problems and creative differences, both Criss and Frehley were out of the group by 1982. The band’s commercial fortunes had also waned considerably by that point.
In 1983, KISS abandoned their makeup and enjoyed a commercial resurgence throughout the mid-to-late 1980s. They began to fall out of favor once again by the early 1990s, however. Buoyed by a wave of KISS nostalgia in the mid-1990s, the band announced a reunion of the original lineup (with makeup) in 1996. The resulting “KISS Alive Worldwide” tour was the top-grossing act of 1996.
Criss and Frehley have since left KISS, and have been replaced by Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, respectively. The band continues to perform, while Stanley and Simmons have remained the only two constant members.

Un prominente abogado de la ciudad de Nueva York, Robert J. Anello, fue amarrado a una silla, amenazado de muerte y su cabeza rasurada por cinco personas que le robaron en su habitación del Hotel Ritz Carlton, en Isla Verde. Le llevaron $800, dos celulares y cuatro tarjetas de crédito.
Anoche, estos cinco individuos y otro que conducía el automóvil de huida estaban detenidos en la comandancia de Carolina. Al cierre de esta edición la Policía estaba llevando a cabo las ruedas de confrontación.
Una de las teorías de la Policía apunta a que el perjudicado de 54 años, quien se encuentra en la Isla en un viaje de negocios, se encontró con Francheska Agosto, de 21 años; Alejandra Alicea, de 18 años; y una menor de 17 años, frente al Hotel San Juan, de Isla Verde, y subió a su habitación de hotel con ellas.
Luego, estas mujeres dejaron entrar a dos hombres, mientras otro esperaba en un auto en las inmediaciones.
Los hombres fueron identificados como Julio Alicea Candelario, de 24 años; Emanuel Alicea y Luis Antonio Agosto Ríos, ambos de 21 años. Los seis imputados son residentes de Santurce y los Alicea son hermanos.
Los malhechores fueron detenidos a las 5:00 a.m. a bordo de un Chevrolet Caprice frente al negocio Taquitos, en Isla Verde. Carla Millán, agente de la División de Robos del Cuerpo de Investigaciones Criminales (CIC) de Carolina indicó que Anello planifica quedarse en la Isla cuatro días adicionales.
Ayer el silencio imperó en el hotel, donde su portavoz Mirem Ubarri refirió las preguntas a la Policía. Indicó que no se repartiría una hoja informativa entre los huéspedes, que ayer lucían como si nada hubiera ocurrido cuando El Nuevo Día visitó las instalaciones a las 10:00 a.m.
Ubarri indicó que la hospedería no modificaría sus medidas de seguridad y el director de seguridad, John Puder, quien ha laborado en el hotel desde su inauguración, señaló que un evento “como éste” nunca había ocurrido allí.
En el 2004, un agente de FURA mató a su compañera consensual y posteriormente se suicidó dentro del hotel.
La historia se repite
El modo de operar de estos imputados es similar al de una pandilla de hombres y mujeres que colaboran para seducir hombres para luego robarles.
Tal fue el caso de Carlos Medina, un hombre, de 34 años, que visitó en mayo el pub “Ocho de Blanco”, en Río Piedras, donde conoció a dos féminas y se trasladó a un hotel del Condado, donde le robaron dinero y fue víctima de una paliza cortesía de dos hombres colaboradores de las mujeres.
Un caso similar ocurrió en la avenida De Diego, en Puerto Nuevo, donde el comerciante Angel W. Valiente conoció a una mujer en un pub, salieron juntos del local y él fue víctima de un individuo en medio de un ‘carjacking’. Terminó junto a su asaltante cerca de la avenida Kennedy, donde sufrió heridas de bala.
